I think that what looks are relatively subjective a majority of us will agree that the newly released GA 2100 is one of G shocks best-looking today the new design features a slimmer and trimmer case then what we typically see on G shocks with this one being their slimmest watching current production and this is a cash app that many have likened to the autumn eyes Peugeot Royal Oak labeling this watch the Casio G Oak Royal shock you get the clean now k shaped besides the two really are not comparable in any way the G shock features a much more accurate movement, after all, I'm just kidding. The labels are just a bit of light-hearted fun now before we kick into it there are three different colors available in this new collection there's this stealth black version a red version and a black version with what indices enhance. This black version that I've got in hand today is my favorite and I think it looks the best that's my opinion all three of these pieces are going to feature similar finishes materials there's just going to be some tweaks in respect to their colors so after spending a few weeks this watch in my wrist I'm gonna give you my thoughts today and if you've ever wondered how a G shop looks on a macro or just how well finished they are I've got you covered let's get into it.
So right off the bat let's start with the case. It features an all-round matte finish with no polished or shiny surfaces in sight I find that this gives the watch a nice delft the appearance and I'm a fan of it the matte finish ties in really well with the general tough and all-around sporty vibe of this watch the materials and fitment of parts are really well-executed and I'm actually impressed by the clean lines in general case finishing all surfaces match up well to one another the fitment between section two section is tight it's all perfectly executed with no deviations - now on the case BAM we see the functional buttons recessed in a little and this is a feature order design that we see used across most of G shock pieces these pushes are well protected and I've personally never had any issues with accidental bumps or changing any settings due to bumping the watch or accidentally pressing on the case if you've ever used a base model G shock with metal pushers well in use you're going to get similar button response and feel when using this new release this watch in the case features a new carbon core guard structure that protects the module inside by enclosing it in a composite carbon case visible on the underside of the watch this carbon guard provides improved resistance to general impacts damage and cracks this guard protects the internal module that keeps all the relevant data in check and allows this watch to provide a massive list of information including a world timer with 31 time zones at 48 cities.
A stopwatch with a heap of different split and timings battery life is expected to be around three years however that is going to be purely dependent on how frequently you use the functions and more specifically the light there's up to five daily alarms a full order calendar - the year 2099 there's an analog and digital display with the digital display capable of showing the month date seconds and hours plus a whole lot more oh and it also tells the time with an accuracy of around plus to minus fifteen seconds a month which is pretty good and standard for a quartz watch.
There are also dual LED lights in the Dahle one for the face and one for the backlight. For the digital display and you can toggle this light to stay on for different lengths of time these lights do give off enough light to help you read the time but we're a little less bright than what I was personally expecting the Darlin is particular what features an ear all matte black finish and as I mentioned this model in the lineup is my personal favorite the markers are all black and it cleanly finished up close with no signs of flaws of foreign material the doll leading up to them drops away in his recessed this creates enough of the contrast between the markers and the dial itself to provide a little bit of legibility but overall is still quite poor on this watch and the markers don't stand out enough or so great against the matte black dial.
The text and hands also blacked out. But the only sign of white will color across the entire dial on this watch coming from the logo the day indicator and the loom material in the center of the hands however even there's blue material appears a little darker than traditional loom material we see used on typical watches the loom used is nice and bright when activated and I have found it really reactive which is a good thing because while the old black finish looks really cool and I love it.
This watch is not going to win any legibility Awards and look it's good enough for me. In my casual weekend use, however, if you are needing that legibility or you have eyesight issues I suggest that you do look at the alternative model with the bright white markers and hands the doll features a day indicator that shows the day of the week and the digital display that enables you to toggle through all of the features that are previously mentioned over the last few weeks I've only really needed to adjust the date and the time as I've been traveling
And also to write this article however now that I've wrote this article and in the writing of it I adjusted those hands back to ten ten probably a hundred times a couple of hundred times so now I'm used to it and it's really quick and easy for me to adjust the time you hold the adjust button in until you hear it beeip you then tap the mode button four times and adjust the hour you then tap the mode once more and adjust the minutes tap adjust once more and then it's all set up close I was rather impressed with the level of finishing on display and I think it's decent for a watch in this price range and for the most part it definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of finishing lines are crisp markers and the hands all relatively well finished there's minimal foreign material the dial this watch held up really well on the macro and that is not something that I was personally expecting after all Jie shocks are designed to be bashed around and used truly as tool watches so how does it wear and feel more right off the bat when you pick up this watch or even wear it for the first time it is super light and that weight is going to be something that you immediately notice especially if you're coming from say a dive watch on a bracelet it weighs in at 51 grams the case is constructed of plastic and a carbon composite it measures in at 45.5 millimeters in diameter it has a height of eleven point eight millimeters and it's lugged to lug is 47 millimeters and I think for the most part these dimensions are icky and why this watch has been such a hot release for Casio and as I mentioned this is actually the slimmest g-shock currently in production this watch is married up to a traditional basic matte black strap that I need to also mention features a quick release spring bar system and I'm really interested to see where g-shot go with this well better yet what some third-party strap manufacturers come up with well this watch is slim and that does help the watch sit nice and low on the wrist I think that it's just the very well balanced watch overall the weight distribution from the case to the strap is good and perhaps a little too good as you can really lose the watch on your wrist and forget it's there some will like that feeling and some won't some will feel that it's just a little too flimsy feeling or even cheap for this particular watch from what I use it for you know outdoor activities the gym and Beach I actually like the weight and I love how it wears legibility issues aside design wise I think that this is one of the best all-around releases from g-shock in some time it's fresh and while that case shape has been given some attention with those references to the Royal Oak are the biggest improvement for me on this new series is actually the slimmer case and in turn this has significantly improved the general wearability so guys the design is rather slick and I think it works well it looks good while still maintaining that tough looking g-shock DNA and while I would like to see you know this watch feature at the very least solar and it more of a reach likely atomic timing for around 99 bucks us or 249 australia there's actually a big kick up in price to the Australian market a decent package overall and I'm I'm actually keen to see what g-shock do next with this design with how successful this particular model has been I think that they'll capitalize on it and some fresh new colorways won't be too far away but that's just my thoughts and I would love to hear yours on this new collection from the brand are you a fan or do you prefer some of the other models drop a comment below and let me know your thoughts with all that being said.
